Communities Show Pride for Know Your Neighbour Weekend!
Macra na Feirme’s Know Your Neighbour Weekend took place last weekend, the 14th and 15th July with community events taking place nationwide. Throughout Ireland, neighbours took the opportunity to get together to enjoy a BBQ, Family Fun Day, coffee morning and even a four day music festival!
Macra na Feirme National President, Alan Jagoe, said, “We wanted neighbours to take the time to stop, have a chat and get to know those living next to them. The people of Ireland rose to the challenge and adopted the slogan, “Don’t walk by, Say hi!”. I am delighted with the level of commitment and enthusiasm shown by neighbours across the country for this weekend. The support of your neighbours is crucial in times of need. It is important that you know those living closest to you, particularly in isolated, rural areas.”
Events continue to take place nationwide so make sure to check www.knowyourneighbour.ie for information on what’s happening in your community. Don’t forget to send in your event photos for the chance to win one of two SAORVIEW approved TVs or one of two €150 One for All vouchers!
